USTA
KIDS TEAM TENNIS IS THE NEW GAME IN TOWN ! USTA
Kids Team Tennis utilizes a new, fun format to get beginners outplaying tennis
quickly. Utilizing smaller court sizes, smaller rackets and foam or low compression
balls, the program gets kids playing the game first, then learning to play better.
The power of Kids Team Tennis is that it enables
children to play quickly and successfully while incorporating tactical awareness
through play. The new format used in the program makes tennis more fun for the
players and increases skill levels faster than traditional teaching methods. Smaller
courts enable learners to focus on making contact with the ball rather than focusing
on running to the ball. Smaller rackets just make sense for smaller bodies. Slower
balls give young players more time and control and help develop technique and
tactics sooner. They therefore can serve and rally sooner. 8
and under participants play on a 36' court with 19, 21 or 23' rackets and foam
balls. Matches consist of a six game pro-set, no ad scoring(1, 2, 3, game). 10
and under participants will play on a 60' court with low compression balls and
a 23 or 25" racket. Matches consist of an 8 game pro-set, no-ad scoring(1,
2, 3, game) and a tie-break at 4 games all. Parent
involvement is critical and parent education is a cornerstone of the Kids Team
Tennis program. You'll not only learn how to do effective tennis drills with your
kids, you'll also learn how to be an good sports parent, understanding how to
best support your child in their athletic endeavors. Tennis
is the sport of a lifetime and one of the greatest gifts that we can give our
children. Kids Team Tennis emphasizes fun, friends and fitness, and a format that
enables everyone to succeed, developing physical and developmental skills as they
progress. Help your child build success for the future and become a part of this
exciting program today!
